How To Create An Award Winning Video Campaign

Isn’t it frustrating when you come up with an idea, only to find out that idea has been used before? Being successful is the reason you do what you do, so when you try to separate yourself from the competition, only to find out someone is already doing it, it can be a bit disheartening.


Unfortunately, there are no special ways or tricks to help you fast-track your way to success. All is not lost though, because there are a few things you can do in order to help you get there.

Working hard is definitely a good place to start but although this helps, working smarter works even better. Targeting the people who know will be interested in your company or idea is a smart idea instead of spending all of your time approaching a bunch of random people with something they might have no interest in whatsoever.

Its common knowledge that video has exploded online over the last 5 years and more recently it has become a useful tool for online marketing. But, and it’s a big but, those videos are only successful if they’re different. If your products or services are the same as the competition, there is even more reason for you to be different.

It is easy to follow the market-leader when you can see that they are doing well from their success and there can be lessons learned from them, but in order to be noticed you have to be different. One of the most important things to remember with any strategy is to start where you finish. By this we mean, you should think backwards from what you want to achieve. Once you have a target or goal in mind, it is crucial that you work back from here.

From this you can then get creative in building a story for your video. Each video or commercial should follow three simple stages that you would need to follow, which include:
  1. The Setup
  2. The Crisis
  3. The Resolution
These three steps are similar to a story and should make up the main spine of your video, regardless of its length. Although, the amount you spend on each one should be limited and never ‘too much’. Of course, you will want to get as much information packed into a video as you can but over-selling or losing the interest of the audience is something that you need to avoid at all costs.

Video production companies know only so well how not to over-promote a product or a service and the more informational or helpful the video is, the more likely people are going to gain something from it.

Videos are simple and easy-to-make but a well planned and executed video is a much better use of your time. The main things to remember though, are the three simple stages of your videos content and to remember to start where you want to end up.
